Recipe: Rava Pirini

servings: 6-8

Ingredients

  • ½ cup semolina

  • 2 cups of water

  • 1 cup of milk

  • ¼ cup sugar (or to taste)

  • Pandan leaf (lemon grass can be used or omitted completely)

  • 1 can of condensed milk

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Bring semolina, water, milk, sugar and pandan leaf to a boil in a saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Take out the pandan leaf.

  2. Add condensed milk and boil. The mixture should be very thick.

  3. Turn off the stove and pour the hot mixture into containers. Keep in mind that the porridge will thicken more and more once you remove it from the stove.

  4. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon.

  5. The pudding is intended for immediate consumption or you can let it cool in the fridge.

This Maldivian dessert is the perfect end to any meal or you can enjoy it on its own as a delicious treat. In addition, the preparation is very simple and does not take much time.
