About me
My name is Marie, and I have been living in the Maldives for three years. I first visited the Maldives in 2018, and I fell in love with this country at first sight. It was something different from what I had known before.
Previously, I used to travel mostly to resorts, lounging on the beach, you know the drill. But here, it was something else. The locals took care of us, showed me the underwater life. I strolled among their houses, and everyone greeted me with friendly smiles. They introduced us to their culture, showed us interesting places, and shared their stories and experiences with us.
I returned to the same island three more times, and then I decided to stay. I started working directly in the accommodation where I used to stay, and since then, I can call the Maldives my second home.
